Life and Still Life’: Exhibition at Eastern Southland Gallery, 9 March – 4 May 2025
On Saturday 8 March, my exhibition ‘Life and Still Life’ opened at Eastern Southland Gallery in Gore. Long-time supporter, mentor and friend Sir Grahame Sydney opened the exhibition and I was extremely humbled by the kind words he shared of our 30-year history, which began while I was a final year art student at Dunedin School of Art. It felt apt that the exhibition, which features a selection of still lifes (such as the marmite on toast painting pictured above) and portraits (including nationally significant writers and artists, like Sir Grahame, VinceO’Sullivan and Jeffrey Harris), would be held in the place of my birth.
A huge thank you to curator Jim Geddes and the team at Eastern Southland Gallery, along with Sir Grahame and Landfall Editor Lynley Edmeades who contributed to the beautiful exhibition programme that was produced for the show. I still have two paintings available for sale that were part of the exhibition, so please get in touch if you’re interested.
